A Quote from Christ,, March 10 2010

“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
I often wonder how far this can be taken. Example, does it mean if you ask Jesus for a Million Dollars enough times, do you get a Million Dollars. I think not, however if you are not careful, there are those who would say that is what this means. Guess what, they are asking for your money and they get the Million and it is all false.
I find that this is a very important quote for so many reasons, and also one of the most abused by false preachers.

  1. this is very good sonny!
and that red cardinal in the bare tree is so cute.
sonny, i remember when we learned this verse in sunday school, it suddenly struck me that when you put the words ask, seek and knock in a straight row like this,
    Ask
    Seek
    Knock
well it is so incredible that if you put the first letter of each word and put them together, it says ASK...is that good or what.
just like a perfect unending circle!....love terry

    ps as far as asking for a millione dollars;
    Mark 8:36
"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"

    Matthew 6:33
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

  2. so true, I seen a TV preacher use this for a Money grab, so that is where this one is coming from. I used mark 8:36 already I love that one. It speaks to me.
I find it so sad how some false preachers can use ever quote of Christ to gain worldly wealth at the expense of so many poor, or lost soles.

  3. It's also important to abide in His will:
Joh 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

And a person who is abiding in God's will won't ask for something which is against it.
