“Yes I am with you always, until the very end of time”
The Son of God, He who takes the sins of the world....onto himself was born probably 2,014 or 2016 years ago in the Holy Land. Most scholars to-day think it was probably 4 BC or 6 BC. I think 6 BC because of the censers of Rome.
Christmas to-day is celebrated by about one third of the world's population. That is more than two Billion people, an incredible number. The Monetary value of Christmas is nearly 4 Trillion a year. Believe it or not it is only seconded by Military spending world wide annually. Sadly the effect of all this money is not what you would think it is. All that good will, happiness, and feasting is so short lived that it ends literally at midnight on the 25th. Why, I will leave that to the reader.
This is a page from an 1881 Bible I own. It is an Old King James. This is the end of Chapter One, Matthew. This confirms the Virgin Birth as seen v 25. also it shows that Joseph has a huge responsibility to take on a pregnant wife which is not of his doing. That was huge in that day and time.
I used this pic in a previous post, any way it represents a huge amount of time. At least 1,000 years and more. Firstly the Old Testament up to the birth leading it threw with the Profits.
the wailing wall
Then the year or so before the Birth and the two years after. That being visited by Angels, shepherds and wise men. The Anger of King Harold, and the killing of all male children two and younger.
the pyramids
Even more so the flight to Egypt, which was treacherous. The Christmas story is so much more than just the birth of the Jesus. In many way it is a very tragic story as well as one of hope and praise.
The entrance to modern day Bethlehem, I think it speaks volumes about to-days concernings with politics, religion, and faith.
These huge concrete walls thread threw this historic town like great dividers to which they are.

A Christmas Ruby Tuesday
Merry Christmas all, and the best of the Winter or Summer Season where ever you live.
Please check out the previous post as well as it tells the story of Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer as well that it is the true story of how the story was created. It is a good read. Also very sad in the first half.

I wrote this in the languages to which I understand. English, French,. German, and Hungarian
Because of all the space this will take I will do the rest in English and French
A bit of Holly growing in my Garden
Un peu de houx dans mon jardin
My dinning-room table centre piece for this year. Some times I have to remember that opulence really is not a Christmas theme. So I take it any way and make it simpler. I guess we all get caught up in the moment.Silver, Marble, and Poinsettia's are really not about Christmas.
For some reason I could not take a good picture of this. Anyway, Christmas is supposed to be about the birth of the Humanized Lord, the Son of God. These pieces I bought with snow shoveling money in Manitoba when I was ten. I hate to admit it but that was 40 years ago!!!!!
Christmas Bulbs from the past and present.
The clock ticks away till Christmas!!!!!!
Le compte à rebours loin jusqu'à Noël !!!!!!The angels are so important in the story of the Birth of Christ. They are the messengers. They start the spread of the good news. More so they tell Joseph it is okay and it was all from God. Joseph I feel does not get much credit in the story of the birth of Christ. So much was put on his shoulders. We forget the Christmas story actually takes us all the way to the flight to Egypt, not just for that one day of the birth.
All said Merry Christmas to all who read this in the next few days. I hope what ever your traditions are that they are fun filled and placed in the hands of God. For the non Christians I wish you a happy and fun filled holiday. Also remember that Boxing Day is also the feast Day of St. Steven, the first murdered follower of Christ.

The real story of Rudolf the Red Nosed Reinder
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvaO7SvUU9w
this youtube post is the original cartoon from 1948
The True Story of Rudolph
A man named Bob May, depressed and brokenhearted, stared out his drafty apartment window into the chilling December night.
His 4-year-old daughter Barbara sat on his lap quietly sobbing. Bob's wife, Evelyn, was dying of cancer. Little Barbara couldn't understand why her mommy could never come home. Barbara looked up into her dad's eyes and asked, "Why isn't Mommy just like everybody else's Mommy?" Bob's jaw tightened and his eyes welled with tears. Her question brought waves of grief, but also of anger. It had been the story of Bob's life. Life always had to be different for Bob.
Small when he was a kid, Bob was often bullied by other boys. He was too little at the time to compete in sports. He was often called names he'd rather not remember. From childhood, Bob was different and never seemed to fit in. Bob did complete college, married his loving wife and was grateful to get his job as a copywriter at Montgomery Ward during the Great Depression. Then he was blessed with his little girl. But it was all short-lived. Evelyn's bout with cancer stripped them of all their savings and now Bob and his daughter were forced to live in a two-room apartment in the Chicago slums. Evelyn died just days before Christmas in 1938.
Bob struggled to give hope to his child, for whom he couldn't even afford to buy a Christmas gift. But if he couldn't buy a gift, he was determined to make one - a storybook! Bob had created an animal character in his own mind and told the animal's story to little Barbara to give her comfort and hope. Again and again Bob told the story, embellishing it more with each telling. Who was the character? What was the story all about? The story Bob May created was his own autobiography in fable form. The character he created was a misfit outcast like he was. The name of the character? A little reindeer named Rudolph, with a big shiny nose. Bob finished the book just in time to give it to his little girl on Christmas Day. But the story doesn't end there.
The general manager of Montgomery Ward caught wind of the little storybook and offered Bob May a nominal fee to purchase the rights to print the book. Wards went on to print “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and distribute it to children visiting Santa Claus in their stores. By 1946 Wards had printed and distributed more than six million copies of Rudolph. That same year, a major publisher wanted to purchase the rights from Wards to print an updated version of the book.
In an unprecedented gesture of kindness, the CEO of Wards returned all rights back to Bob May. The book became a best seller. Many toy and marketing deals followed and Bob May, now remarried with a growing family, became wealthy from the story he created to comfort his grieving daughter. But the story doesn't end there either.
Bob's brother-in-law, Johnny Marks, made a song adaptation to Rudolph. Though the song was turned down by such popular vocalists as Bing Crosby and Dinah Shore, it was recorded by the singing cowboy, Gene Autry. "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer" was released in 1949 and became a phenomenal success, selling more records than any other Christmas song, with the exception of "White Christmas."
The gift of love that Bob May created for his daughter so long ago kept on returning back to bless him again and again. And Bob May learned the lesson, just like his dear friend Rudolph, that being different isn't so bad. In fact, being different can be a blessing.
A Christmas wish
A summer picture of me this last July. I am using it to wish every one a very Merry Christmas. The reason is it is so cold that I just remember being warm when this pic was taken !!!!!! I will post another more appropriate later in the week!!!!
A few out door pics to-day
This is the Princess Blue Holy, It is rather beautiful and one of only a very few that will live here. It is a shrub type. They sure do not get big like the types that I have seen on Vancouver Island
Believe it or not my fish pond is under all that ice. There is a pump going keeping a hole on the surface. That is so critical to keeping fish in a pond in the winter. What generally happens is that an ice dome is formed on the surface, which is also a good thing if the pump should ever stop working.
My back yard settee. Not a nice place to enjoy company this day!!!! I had forgotten to bring in my Spikes for the winter so they are now boomed.
This is my Hoto Colorado Blue Spruce. I had many jokes from people that they were going to cut it and use it for their Tree this year. This tree is an absolute beauty. I planted it as a near dead sapling 10 years ago. It took three years to recover and to-day she is magnificent.
This is my little girl Asia, She will tell you she is really a Doberman in a Shih-Tzu costume. She loves the cold and snow, and I hate it so the poor thing does not get the out doors as she would like to.
A decoration at the side entry of my house, leading to the kitchen area. I went with a Gold and Silver theme this year.

another Ruby Tuesday Christmas Style
My Dunnville home decked out for Christmas. Not to fancy this year!!!! That is our first snow fall and it is already gone. Rain day to-day
The Gospel According to Matthew tells the story of the birth of Christ, also in Luke. It is a sad and inspirational story that every one should read. It tells the non commercial story of the birth of Christ. The first part shown here tells the story of the ancestors of Christ from Abraham to David, then to Jesus
A rather large floral display. This is a Mexican Tradition incorporating Poinsettia's and gold to represent Christmas. To-day it is embraced threw out the New World.
I could have had a large 2.5 meter Christmas tree in my house but this little 1 meter tree is so special to me. I bought it for my Grandmother for what became her last Christmas. She hated it. However after I left the Seniors Home (Grandview Lodge) the nursing staff told me that she did not take her eyes of it and she loved it. Ever since that time it has become the primary focus point of my home at Christmas.
My Nativity Set. It is set up in my Dinning-room. I had this since I was ten years old in CFB Rivers, Manitoba. I was brought up on Military Bases. I have added the trees in the last couple of years. People at times are not aware of the fact that this display is actually a grouping that represents a 2 year period. I always put the Jesus figure out on Christmas Eve after Midnight Mass. This is just my thing not a tradition that I might not be aware of. The Manger it self is long gone so now I set it up differently each year with out it.

Canada means in direct translation "the Village" or also the"Meeting Place". Both translations are correct. So from my Village (Canada) here displayed to all of you "Merry Christmas". Above the Christmas Village is a picture of my Grandparents that once owned this lovely old Victorian home. Also to which this Blog is dedicated to.

Ruby Tuesday Nov 15 2010 A Rememberance Day post
This Vet looks a little worse for wear, but he served. I guess the question becomes did we do right by him. Here he is Saluting "O Canada" as it was being sung by the participants at the ceremony.
If you look at nothing else from this post please look at this. CANADA is there and we are doing our part. I do know what Fox News and the Republican Party of the USA say ,but Canada is fighting and dying.

our National Anthem
During the President Bush Era it was stated many times Canada was never there in times of WAR. However we sure were and always before his Country. We morn the loss of so many over the years as a Nation. Also all those of every nation that served, and the loss of the innocent of every Nation, that including our enemies of that time..
Here is the Colour Party marching to the Cenotaph . Our Flag is marching proud of her accomplishments. My Dad is in the picture.
. Our Air Cadets from our small town joined in as well
Many people including myself had our National Flag showing for this solemn day.
I love this picture. This young man looks so honest in the moment. For Ruby Tuesday the only red here is the poppy.
Our Monument is one of the smallest in the Nation. I think it fitting however. No mater how Large or Grand it can never equal the loss of even one man or woman that stood for our freedom, nor the freedom of the enemy of ours at that time. People are always the victim of their Governments.
and finally my Father and his wonderful and lovely new wife of one year, in my home on Remembrance Day. My Father suffered life threatening injuries in Israel in Peace keeping. Now in two weeks my son goes to Afghanistan to continue in the fight for freedom of others. I always have the Flag of our Nation on show in my home, because thousands of our fellow Canadians died for me to have the right to do so. I was lucky in so many ways I served our Nation for 25 years (Navy) and never suffered like so many have.

Here is my Jack O lantern all ready for the big night. However as I was putting him on the fag I dropped it.
so now he had an ugly eye and a crack all the way to his nose
Here is the house ready to go for the big event. Not to fancy but it was fun all the same. "Monster Mash" was played on the speakers continuously!!!!!
A cousin of mine getting her picture taken. She loved the poor pumpkin and his tragedy. She was here from Hamilton, Ontario
Finally a couple of great kids ( neighbours of mine) came for the treats I had to offer. I did splurge this year and had all the good stuff!!!!!!
Here is a little story about Monster Mash, I Married in mid October 1975 and Monster Mash was a big hit at that time. So for fun and totally unexpected to everyone including my new wife, I had Monster Mash played as our first dance. She was in shock. I loved it , and it was the dance of the night. Everyone joined in and we had to play it several times that night.
Years later like last year, my Dad remarried for the second time on Halloween. Guess what, the big song of the night was Monster Mash. It was for his new marriage the hit of the night, and it had to be played several times. Thursday, 28 October 2010
