A slipper made for a Queen

Here again is the Cyprigedium calceolus (Yellow Lady Slipper) I posted this a few days ago, but now it has opened. This little guy is a show stopper. There is more about it in the previous post.

  4. Hi Reg, It's been a while since I've visited you, I've missed a lot! I have a lady slipper in my flower bed which used to grow on the side of a road near here. It is white, and beautiful, and I saved it from the weed spray truck.
Two years ago it was chomped by a deer, I thought I'd lost it! But it had a few blooms last year and I think there will be more this. I didn't know they were toxic, and apparently the deer didn't, either!
    Blessings!

  5. Wow nice to see that you saved that great plant. Lady Slippers are a tricky plant. They never fallow the rules that we write about them. I had no idea that they where poisons either until I read a bit about them.
