A Quote from Christ,, April 21 2010

Elytrigia (Crouch Grass) and Digitaria (Crabgrass). Where does one start with these guys. Well not to-day. However I will to-marrow in how to get rid of these in the garden. These fit in with my to-day's Quote however.

Tulipa (Tulips) These are just beautiful as are the hundreds that are now in bloom in the garden.

I thought of this to-day when I was pulling the grass out of the garden and it haunted me continuously.  So what better Quote of Christ than this. I would also have thrown these in a fire but we are not allowed to have fires any longer. So into the big paper recycle bag they went.

The tulips at the moment remind me of the righteous, doing and showing their beauty and glory. Amazingly they look even more beautiful when the weeds are removed. I think that speaks of us as well.

This is Holy Week, This is what Christianity is built on through Christ. As we celebrate the victory of Jesus entering Jerusalem, the trial that followed, his pain, and then death. Then next week, with Easter, it becomes his resurrection we celebrate as well we should. With out that there would be no Christianity. Christ himself would have been just another Man if he had not risen. 

I put up a squirrel's nest here. It comes to mind the quote of Christ where he states that "On this rock I build my Church", Well in this case a tree !!!  still the point is the family has to start somewhere. Sadly this is the tree that was cut down a couple of weeks ago. The squirrels are doing fine however, There was nobody home that day.

 I often wonder how far this can be taken. Example, does it mean if you ask Jesus for a Million Dollars enough times, do you get a Million Dollars. I think not, however if you are not careful, there are those who would say that is what this means. Guess what, they are asking for your money and they get the Million and it is all false.

I find that this is a very important quote for so many reasons, and also one of the most abused by false preachers.

A Wednesday Quote of Christ

This is my favourite of all the quotes of Christ. I also used it at My Grandmother's Funeral. Referring to her as the good seed. She was a religious woman and a Farmer.
I believe it describes our lives so well.  The particular plant that this Ear of Corn came from was saved by the birds from a bird feeder, it had landed by luck in a large planter, in wonderful rich soil. I allowed the plant to live. However I did understand how corn grows, and what makes an ear of corn full. This plant grew to 3 meters, fantastic leaves and so healthy. However it was by it self. so when it came time for propagation it only had itself. So although all things where perfect for it. The plant still failed. We are all like that in a way. we are not islands, nor did God want us to be. Even if all things are perfect, alone we still can not succeed. .

the lord's ears are always opened to our prayers.
the last week sonny has been ill and there are i am sure some of his dear friends praying for him.

now even though we can't do this, we do have the great privilege to pray for our dear friend.....

I am no scholar but this quote saddens me. I often think on it. I came to a conclusion of sorts. We are so busy being Christian that we forgot how to follow Christ. We do so many things in the name of Christ and yet never do those things that are with in Christ;.
