My Fruit Trees

The Bartlet Pear, This tree in my Garden is actually very small. It stands at the max of 2 meters. However it is a real producer. This tree needs a second for propagation and it is not another Bartlet, it is a Bosc Pear that is ideal or this. This is the pear that you draw in elementary school!!!! It is a beautiful fruit and tastes very nice.

The Bosc Pair, This pear is an Ugly Duckling. However for taste there is no other to surpass it. If you love the taste of pears this is the one. This guy needs a second Pear for Propagation and it is the Bartlett. So if you do like I did and buy one of each. Your problems are solved. This tree grows very large. Mine is already at least 4 meters tall.

The Burbank Plum, If you love plums you will love this one. It has to be the most beautiful flowering fruit tree in the spring and it is always the first to show off. If I have a complaint about this as a tree is that it will grow huge. up to 2 meters a year. I always cut the years growth way back for the next year.

I have a Macintosh Apple but I am not showing it here as this is the tree's first year and I killed the Babies !!!! hard to do that really!!! so it will concentrate on producing roots.

More eatibles

Here are a couple of Brussels Sprouts I planted, a first for me. I have no real knowledge about them, so it will be a learning curve. Lots of computer research to come. As you can see I have a tulip bulb exposed. That happens a lot in my garden in the summer when I work in it.

The Yukon Gold Potato. This was a last minute thought. I had some in a bag all wrinkled up and sprouted. I was going to throw them out. I had a brain storm and planted them instead. Now they are growing. I made one mistake right off the top. I did not plant them in a hole. I found out threw the Northern Gardener Almanac
( here is the site  http://www.northerngardenersalmanac.com/ ). Then fill in the hole as they grow. "Who Knew" !!!!!!!!!!

Dill-weed, I love this stuff in many dishes. I was warned that it will take off like a weed in the garden. That is just fine by me. I think it would be easy to weed out if it gets out of control.

The English Cucumber. A favourite of mine. I hope that these turn out fine for me. I have never grown them so it will be fun to see how it goes. I have this one on a fence.

 Here is my mint, I keep it away from the main garden in a pot so it can not spread. I do love it but not as a monster out of control........

As I stated before I never grew veg in the garden so a lot of it is rather new for me, or I am trying to remember how my Grandmother grew things.

Things you can eat!!!!!

A beefsteak Tomato. I like these. however by the look of it I need to do some plant care!!!

A sweet Bell Pepper. I like the more exotic varieties but I at least know how to grow these!!

Peaches and cream corn. I have no love for corn at all, But this is just a fun thing to do in the garden this year. I have never grown corn so there is a first for every thing

sage is a favourite herb of mine

I rarely use Basil but what the heck!!!!!!!

Rosemary I love this in soups so well worth having

Lemon thyme, I have no idea what I will do with this but I guess it is a nice to have thing.

The notorious Mint!!!! I love mint but never will I allow it it to go free in the garden. However I think he looks great confined to a planter with a little garden stuff added.

Zuchini is my favorite veg. I just love it. So I planted three of them. I hope I have success with it.

I never planted vegetables in my gardens before so this year is a fun thing. What I did with the exception of the corn was to plant it all throughout the Gardens mixed in with other things. I think a lot of them make nice plants and I see already that most blend in nicely
