Gros-beak not Gross-beak

I really know very little about these guys. We actually do not see these often. However when we do, they are showy and interesting. They are actually large, about the size of an American Robin but heavier looking.
These are related to the Cardinalidae:, Cardinal Family.
They do sound very similar to the American Robin as well.

  2. These guys are wonderful. Very beautiful in deed. I love seeing these but it is rare. I miss the Meadow Larks in Manitoba. they where my favourite bird there.I remember lots of them would hang out on the power-lines in front of our house in Wheatland

  3. hahaha...those guys used to hang out on the power lines near that little turquoise bungalow in wheatland where the sikora kids lived...that is so cute and yet so funny sonny...love terry
